V5Y.
Two temperature
points. One journey.
Internal and external probe readings, with connected reporting.
The Frigga V5Y combines an internal temperature sensor and an external probe in a single-use logger. Follow both temperature records, light and location through the cloud platform and app.

Measure where it matters.
When your monitoring plan calls for two temperature measurement points, V5Y brings the readings together in one connected device. RTDL can help you plan the placement for your goods and route.
Record around the logger.
The internal sensor measures from −30°C to +70°C at the logger's position, providing one temperature record for the journey.
Measure a second point.
The external probe measures from −40°C to +80°C. Position it at the second measurement point required by your monitoring plan.
Review both readings.
Follow temperature records alongside light and cellular location information. Use configured alerts to flag readings outside your chosen limits.
The readings reflect the sensor and probe positions. Measuring product core temperature requires suitable probe placement and a validated method. Discuss your application with RTDL.
Two readings.
One place to review.
Use the Frigga platform to follow shipment information on desktop or mobile when connectivity is available.
- Review internal and external probe temperature records.
- Follow light readings and cellular location information.
- Configure temperature alerts for your monitoring requirements.
- Download PDF reports through the cloud or USB.
Cloud access is included with your V-Series purchase, with no ongoing subscription fees.

*Match reporting settings to the journey.
Up to 60 days is based on 60-minute reporting. More frequent reporting and operating conditions affect battery duration. The logger stores readings offline and retransmits when the signal returns. Live transmission depends on network availability.
Plan the placement.
Then follow the journey.
Define the two measurement points.
Tell RTDL what you are moving, the route and where you need each temperature reading.
Confirm placement and settings.
Agree on the recording, reporting and alert settings. Follow the supplied instructions for starting the logger and positioning the probe.
Review both records.
Follow the available readings through the platform and app, then download a PDF report for your shipment records.
A few practical questions.
What does dual temperature mean?
V5Y has an internal sensor at the logger body and a separate external probe. Each records temperature at its own position, so your placement determines what the two readings represent.
How does V5Y compare with M1E?
V5Y provides connected reporting with internal and external temperature measurements, light and location. M1E records external probe temperature with a display and USB report download. Choose according to whether you need readings during transit or a record at destination.
Does V5Y use GPS or transmit continuously at sea?
This V5Y model uses LBS cellular base station positioning. Live transmission depends on available networks. It records and stores readings while offline, then retransmits once the signal returns.
Are there ongoing cloud subscription fees?
No ongoing subscription fees apply to the cloud access included with your V-Series logger purchase.
Can I use the probe for an export protocol?
Discuss the required tolerances, probe placement, calibration documentation and validation process with RTDL before selecting a model. Suitability depends on the specific protocol and application.
